Acoustic Weighting Calculation

The acoustic weighting is calculated according to the international standard IEC 61672-1:2003, which defines methods for measuring sound using different weighting scales.

Types of Acoustic Weighting Available

You can calculate the following acoustic weightings:

  • A-weighting - commonly used for general sound level measurement and noise regulations
  • C-weighting - useful for peak measurements and environments with higher sound levels
  • Linear-weighting - provides an unweighted measurement of sound across the spectrum
